Waiting Children are children with a diagnosed medical condition or healthy children over the age of 5. There are a variety of ways parents can be matched with a waiting child. At the present time most children from China are matched with parents through a system called "shared listings" in which the Chinese Government/CCAA makes profiles of waiting children available to authorized adoption agencies through a web-accessed database system. In addition to shared listings, Gladney also receives profiles of specific children that are assigned exclusively to Gladney for matching with adoptive parents.
