Steps Families Take

New Beginnings State Adoption Process Through Gladney

The Gladney Center for Adoption extended its commitment to children and families in 2000 by creating the New Beginnings Program. This program assists the Texas Department of Family Protective Services in recruiting loving adoptive homes for children currently waiting in the State's foster care system.

The majority of these children are over the age of 8, of African-American ethnicity and removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect. There are numerous children available and there is no fee for families who adopt a child waiting in foster care through the Texas Department of Family Protective Services.

You may visit the Available Children page to learn more about children currently waiting for a loving home.
